38 weeks

• weight gain: 32 pounds

•How big is baby?: should be 7-7.5 pounds this week. The doc wants me to have a growth u/s on Tuesday to check size so we will see what that unveils.

•Due date: August 10th, but I really think Baby will come a little early, a week would be good or 2. Please soon, like Thursday would be great :-)

•Sleep?: I want to kill myself! Sleep sucks, I am in so my pain from sleeping on my sides, hips and pelvis feel broken when I wake up.

•Movement?: Last night my Buddah turned into a box shape, it was sooo weird.

•Food cravings?: fresh fruit of all kinds

•Next apt: Tuesday Aug. 3rd.

•Belly button in or out?: just weird looking and scary, yikes. It wouldn't be so bad if I didn't have the darn belly ring hole/scar that looks looks like a Picasso painting.

•What I miss: Not being in pain and feeling like a damn whale ass

•What I'm looking forward to: My sister coming in from San Fran on Wed :-)

•Feelings: Ready, bring it!!

giraffe

So while browsing baby hats on Etsy, which by the way is my newest baby obsession, I came across this one. It took me less than 5 minutes to complete my order. Anyone that know me, understands my affinity for giraffes.

maternity shoot

So I am going to bombard you with my fave shots from the shoot. We had such a great time with our friend April that shot these photos for us.her site

real

Had a wonderful doc apt yesterday! Baby is doing great. Heart rate this time pointed towards boy :-) I am feeling great and overall it was just a good news day. Afterward, we took a trip to the hospital for a tour. Loved the nurses, they were all super nice and easy going and really knew about natural birth and were in support of that. We ran into our midwife and ob there as well. I am much more relaxed and prepared seeing where the action will take place.

•Due date: August 10th, but I really think Baby will come a little early, a week would be good or 2.

The nursery

So here is the completed nursery. The glider will eventually move into this room once I go back to work and it will sit in the corner next to the dresser. I wish the pictures would show how fabulous it really looks, but they don't, so tough. I went with turquoise and bright yellow as my color inspiration.

We will be adding our maternity photographs and pictures of the the little punkin' on the walls once we get those. I am still on the lookout for a bright yellow rug for the middle of the floor and a crib skirt, but so far no such luck. I decided to leave the walls white because we'd have to paint over them before moving out next May. So I tried to bring in the colors through the curtains and accents. Above the ultrasound art I will be adding the babe's name in colored blocks hanging by sating ribbon, I just have to wait and see if it's Caleb or Alina. I loved every second of creating this room for my babe and look forward to seeing he/she in it. Lots of love was put into this room. It's not quite how I envisioned it, but it's pretty close.

craving

Lately I have obsessed with Caesar salads. I normally don't like to make salads for myself. I'd much rather go out and order one, but I couldn't help myself at the store yesterday. I picked up some Caesar dressing, organic romaine, organic tomatoes, and chicken, oh yea and Parmesan cheese. I whipped this bad boy up for lunch today and it was oh-so tasty!

ready

ok, NO I am not crazy but how else am I suppose to envision Baby here other than practice with my giraffe baby? I would never go out in public like this, just my living room with my only witnesses being B and the cat.

34 weeks

I am feeling fabulous!! My back pain seems to have gone away for the most part. I must be sleeping better, but I do nap everyday and some days feel exhausted the entire day. I even told B yesterday that I felt skinny(obviously not the bump area)! What!?! You heard right, I don't know where the hell that came from but I just felt so great.

•Total weight gain: 1 lb up from last week. Ignorance is bliss actually not knowing my weight. I told the nurse that I'm not going to look when she weighs me. SHe got a giggle out of that.

•How big is baby?: should be 5.5 pounds this week

•Due date: August 10th, but I really think Baby will come a little early.

•Sleep?: Back to the bed, and it has been bliss.

•Movement?: doesn't stop, and I love it so.

•Food cravings?: English muffins with strawberry jam, decaf coffee, blueberries. I'm trying to cut down on the sweets since my sugar was high at my last apt.

•Next apt: July 12th-after this I will start going weekly!

•Belly button in or out?: just weird looking

•What I miss: sleeping on my stomach

•What I'm looking forward to: getting my maternity pictures done at the park on Saturday morning!! Yea, we had to reschedule because it rained last week.

•Feelings: anxious and excited at the same time. Ready to meet this pumpkin'

look what came yesterday!

My glider!!!! I sat in this most of the evening yesterday, got up this morning and sat in it, took a nap, made breakfast, and ate it in it. Can you tell I'm in love with my glider?

It was going to live in the baby's room, but I have decided that it will stay right here in the living room until the baby starts sleeping in its room in the crib. So not for a while. I figure I will spend most of my time at home rocking and feeding baby watching TV out in the living room, so I don't want to be cooped up in the nursery.
