first haircut

you had your first hair cut on monday, september 26, 2011.    you sat on mama's lap the whole time and did pretty good, despite these pictures of you looking freaked out.  it was such a special memory.  we took your first snip of hair home in a special envelope from the salon to place in your baby book.

now you look more like a big boy with this new fresh cut.

another day in the classroom, gotta be comfy yet stylish.  adding a belt does that for me, i am obsessed with them.  belts can totally change the look of an outfit and just jazz it up.  i'm surprised i managed a smile being this was taken at the end of the day when i got home, must have been a good day.

you can do monster noises on command!  we can't get enough of it.

my sister gave me this top so long ago, thanks sis.  this is work wear for me, a little pop of color in the necklace, which i nee to remember to get a close up of, the color is fantastic.  nothing too fancy here, but it does the job, paired with open toe pumps and i look all professional.  don't ask me what i'm staring at, i still don't know how to look at the camera.

yes i was too lazy to put my shoes back on for the picture, they weren't that exciting anyways, just black ballet flats.  i got this top on clearance at target, one of my fave places to shop of course.  i love the pop of turquoise that this necklace brings to the party.  i tried doing that new hair trend, the top knot, and this is what it looked like at the end of the day, not too great.  i do however like the look a bit lower on my head, not as many flyaways.

13 months

here you are caleb in all your glory at 13 months my sweet dear.  thank you to uncle kloeckner for this shirt, you love it.  

• you are a pro at walking now and love to "run" away holding something you've found or when mama is trying to come and get you. 
• you are still fitting into 12 month clothes but are moving into 18 months
• you love to self feed yourself most anything that is not slimy or slippery
• you love to drink your milk
• you're still taking 2 naps a day and sleep through the night from 8pm to about 6:45 - 7:15 am
• you have 6 teeth now, 2 on top, four on the bottom
• you have been bike riding with us and you loved it and you really just enjoy being outside and petting mr. chive plant out on the deck
• you have the cutest little buddah belly in your jammies when your top starts to ride up
• you have started to get really vocal especially at the table, you just talk and sing away, you still eat with your feet up on the the table.
• you have started to be ok with mama leaving you at kristine's for the day because you don't cry anymore and just want to run off and play with the kids.

you are getting to be such a big boy with the biggest heart.  next week you are going to get your very first hair cut by the lady that has been cutting dada's hair since he was a young pup.

we took you for your first bike ride last sunday and you really loved it.  we rode on the local bike trail right near our house and when we took you out of the trailer, you were full of dust and dirt that rode up into your diaper!  i guess we will have to stick to the paved roads from now on.

plum crazy

this is one of those outfits that just looked better on in person than photographs, i swear!  i also fixed the buttoning of my sweater later after seeing this, so i unbuttoned a top button, and buttoned a bottom one, way more balanced.  this was just a fun and funky ensemble to wear to work on a friday.  no jewelry need to compete with the mixture of pattern and print here, as long as it's in the same color family, it works.

the day started out chilly and this was the perfect outfit for our nice saturday stroll to the chocolate shop.  then i stepped outside, and realized it was hot as heck and off came the pants and shoes and on came a black cotton skirt and sandals.  brian makes fun of this silk top because he says it looks like a painter's smock.  it kinda does i guess...

your first birthday

finally i have the pictures from your birthday party to post.  this was such an amazing day for us.  having auntie g here made all of this even more wonderful and memorable.  i couldn't have done it without her decorative talent.  so here is the onslaught of pictures from the special occasion.

caleb was initiated into his polish heritage by eating his first polish sausage today.  well it was actually a turkey sausage that was skinless, but hey i had to give him a healthy alternative right?!  he couldn't get enough of it.

oh wait, yeah i do, his name is caleb and there's no time in the morning.  this outfit is super cute and i like the mix of navy and red, i swear i wasn't going for the patriotic look on purpose.  i paired it with black ballet flats that are easy on my feet all day.  the back of this silk top is neat because it crosses and comes up but i didn't get a good shot of it, boo me.

you took your first real steps today in front of me, dada, and babcia.  it was beautiful to watch you do it and to see that proud smile on your face.  we got it on video of course and will put it on here for you to look back on.

you continue to practice your newest trick while playing.  you will just stop and walk to me with your arms up in the air.  i love you so much.
